On 13 May 2026, Ivano-Frankivsk came under attack by russian forces. An enemy drone struck a residential building located near our university.
The blast wave caused damage to windows, doors, computer equipment, and furniture at King Danylo University and the College of King Danylo University. No students or staff members were injured. Two students who were in the shelter experienced an acute stress reaction and were promptly provided with first aid.
First aid was also administered by KDU staff to three individuals who were passing near the university premises at the time of the explosion and sustained shrapnel injuries.
In addition, the university administration offered accommodation on the university campus to three female students, as their rented apartment was damaged in the drone strike.
The university administration emphasizes that the safety of all participants in the educational process is an absolute priority. The university will continue to ensure compliance with civil protection requirements and urges all participants to respond promptly to air-raid alerts and remain in shelters until they are lifted.
