Артбук коханої воїна «Чекання» презентували в Івано-Франківську. Це збірка текстів та ілюстрацій про досвід дружин воїнів, які чекають своїх чоловіків із війни. Однією з авторок, чиї твори ввійшли до видання, є викладачка Університету Короля Данила Христина Кухарук.
«Цю книжку місцями дуже важко читати. Тому що авторки виписують те, що справді болить, про що зазвичай не говорять. Мабуть, від 24 лютого 2022 року це перше промовлення цієї теми, промовлення про те, що я когось чекаю, як я чекаю і як при цьому почуваюся. Зазвичай я не говорю про війну як про щось особисте. Тому що всі ми відкриваємося лише до певної межі. А художній текст, який є в книжці, більше про інтимність і справжнє переживання, тому що, коли пишу, переді мною лише я і букви на екрані», – розповідає Христина Кухарук.
Авторка ідеї створення артбуку – письменниця, журналістка, мисткиня Софія Сіренко. Каже, усе почалося з того, що вона створила картини на тему чекання. Згодом вони ввійшли до видання.
«Тоді мій чоловік вже два роки як був військовим. І я вирішила малювати про досвід чекання з війни. Створила 8 робіт, а відтак подумала, що, можливо, варто написати книгу про це. Бо, як на мене, ця тема недостатньо підсвічена в літературі. Звернулася до авторок із пропозицією створити тексти, щоби підтримати таких же дружин військових», – каже Софія Сіренко.

Essay by KDU Lecturer Included in the Artbook “Waiting”
The artbook of a soldier’s loved one, “Waiting”, was presented in Ivano-Frankivsk. It is a collection of texts and illustrations about the experiences of soldiers’ wives who wait for their husbands to return from the war. One of the contributing authors is Khrystyna Kukharuk, a lecturer at King Danylo University.
“This book is sometimes very difficult to read because the authors write about what truly hurts, what is usually left unsaid. Perhaps, since February 24, 2022, this is the first time this topic has been expressed — the experience of waiting for someone, how I wait, and how I feel while waiting. Usually, I don’t speak of the war as something personal because we all reveal ourselves only to a certain extent. But the literary texts in this book are more about intimacy and genuine experience, because when I write, it’s just me and the letters on the screen,” says Khrystyna Kukharuk.
The idea for the artbook came from writer, journalist, and artist Sophia Sirenko. She explains that it all started when she created paintings on the theme of waiting, which were later included in the publication.
“At that time, my husband had already been serving in the military for two years. I decided to create artwork about the experience of waiting for someone from the war. I made eight pieces and then thought that perhaps a book should be written about this, because, in my view, this topic is not sufficiently highlighted in literature. I reached out to authors with an invitation to contribute texts in order to support other military wives,” says Sophia Sirenko.
