Renowned Norwegian economist, professor at the School of Economics and Business at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). He holds a PhD in Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). His research interests include empirical finance, commodity market analysis and energy markets.

Professor Gjølberg gave a guest lecture at King Danylo University on ‘Is the Russian economy facing collapse?’, in which he analysed the current state of Russia's financial markets in the context of the full-scale war against Ukraine. The lecture was based on his research covering the period from March 2020 to April 2025.

Professor Gjølberg has visited Ukraine several times on humanitarian missions. King Danylo University is working to deepen cooperation so that the professor and his colleagues can teach Ukrainian students more often.
