The roundtable discussion " Internationalization of Higher and VET Education: Challenges and Prospects " was held on May 5, 2022 as a part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of King Danylo University in co-organization with the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine.
During the roundtable discussion, the reports of colleagues from Ukraine and Portugal were presented, in particular: the report of Rui Balthazar, Digital Ambassador to the Association of Teacher Training Centers (Portugal), who shared his many years of experience in Erasmus projects; the report by Inna Varvaruk, Director of the Professional College of King Danylo University on the issue of integration of Ukrainian VET educational system into the world educational area; the report by Veronika Tkachenko, Spokeswoman of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, who described the 2021-2027 Erasmus + European Union Program’s opportunities for participants in the educational and scientific process, as well as other participants of the roundtable joined the discussion of the integration of higher and VET education issues.
The event was held remotely through the Zoom system under martial law. Despite this fact, the event was attended by about 100 people from different parts of Ukraine, including representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, Semen Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Separated structural unit "Sniatyn Professional College of Higher Education Institution "Podillia State University", Lviv Ivan Franko National University, Odesa I. Mechnykov National University, Professional College of Culture and Arts (Kalush), Cherkasy State Business College.
Within the roundtable discussion " Internationalization of Higher and VET Education: Challenges and Prospects" the following conclusion was drawn: the internationalization of higher education is still relevant, and it is necessary to strengthen and actively involve VET education in the processes of internationalization in order to prepare the younger generation in conditions of dynamic changes to think globally, to be responsible and able to adapt quickly to intercultural space.
