The III International Language Forum “Tutoring and Business Communication” at King Danylo University

King Danylo University hosted the III International Language Forum “Tutoring and Business Communication,” which took place on April 15–16.

The forum brought together Ukrainian and international philologists, including speakers from Ireland, the USA, Germany, and the United Kingdom, as well as representatives of language-focused businesses, for a professional discussion on the theoretical and practical aspects of teaching and learning English, issues in translation studies, and the contemporary foundations of intercultural and business communication.

The event was structured around two main focus areas — Translation & Communication and Teaching & Tutoring — featuring panel discussions and workshops.

“This is a practice-oriented event where we address current market challenges, work through real-life cases, and enhance professional language skills through workshops and panel discussions with native speakers in live interaction with business partners and stakeholders. Panel discussions conducted in English enable students to exchange ideas and improve both their comprehension and speaking skills,” said Oleksandr Lada, Vice-Rector for Business Partnerships Development at KDU and Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Philology and Business Communication.

As part of the forum, a Careers Fair was also held, featuring simulated real-life job interviews: business partners and stakeholders interviewed students who had prepared their CVs in advance, with opportunities for further internships or employment.

“I really appreciate that the forum format combines practical skills with theoretical knowledge. Participants can see how everything works not only in theory but also in practice. It is also important that modern approaches to teaching are taken into account: today, in the era of social media, teaching must be dynamic and engaging — much like watching Netflix. That is why this forum is both interesting and informative for the younger generation,” noted Anna Velychko, Founder and Director of English School by Mrs. Ann.
