WHY LAW?

Law is considered to be a leading elite specialty and a lawyer is one of the most popular and highly-paid jobs in a civilized society. When someone is ill, they need to book an appointment with their doctor, as well as in case of legal problems and issues you need to have your own lawyer.

A lawyer is a profession that unites all people working in legal institutions. Prosecutors, judges, legal advisers, lawyers, notaries, police workers and probation officers are all professionals who guard the law. They all are considered to be experts in one of the areas of law.

The study of law and its areas is based on legal values and principles, which are based on human rights and fundamental freedoms.

The program of specialty 081 "Law" is focused on the fact that in the future you will be able to find a job quickly and continue your studies because this faculty provides you with a good legal education. Equally important is the fact that during your studies you will gain a wealth of knowledge and develop professional competencies in law, which will give you a great opportunity for career development and a wide range of jobs where you can realize yourself.

As the profession of legal specialist is in demand in the labour market, King Danylo University is aimed at training professionals who can find themselves in the following occupations:

  • Staff for Court (a judicial assistant, a court clerk, etc.)
  • an attorney assistant (paralegal), attorney
  • a notarial assistant; a notary
  • a lawyer of public and private companies
  • a legal adviser at enterprises, institutions and organizations
  • National Police of Ukraine
  • State Bureau of Investigation
  • National Anti-Corruption Bureau
  • Prosecutor's office
  • Security Service of Ukraine
  • State Probation Service

Special (professional, subject) competences:

  • Ability to apply theoretical and philosophical basics of law, knowledge and understanding of the structure of the legal profession and its role in the society.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legal and state institutions formation.
  • Respect for human honor and dignity as the highest social value, understanding of their legal nature.
  • Knowledge and understanding of international human rights standards, the provisions of the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, as well as the practice of the European Court of Human Rights.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of international public law, as well as international private law.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the basics of European Union law.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of tasks, principles and doctrines of national law, as well as the content of legal institutions, at least from such areas of law as: constitutional law, administrative law and administrative procedural law, civil and civil procedural law, criminal and criminal procedural law.
  • Knowledge and understanding of substantive and procedural law norms implementation and application.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legal regulation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the social nature of labor relations and their legal regulation.
  • Ability to determine relevant and acceptable facts for legal analysis.
  • Ability to analyze legal issues, form and justify legal positions.
  • Ability to critically and systematically analyze legal phenomena and apply acquired knowledge in professional activities.
  • Ability to advise on legal issues, in particular, possible ways to protect the rights and interests of clients, in accordance with the requirements of professional ethics, proper compliance with the rules on non-disclosure of personal data and confidential information.
  • Ability to independently prepare drafts of law enforcement acts.
  • Ability to logical, critical and systematic analysis of documents, understanding of their legal nature and meaning.
